Noyan 2015-2022 will be the debut work of Zurich photographer Noah Noyan Wenzinger. It photographically tells the coming of age of a young man who, with his analogue point-and-shoot camera in his luggage, always captures all sorts of events in his own unique way. The main protagonists are close friends of Noyan who surround him, inspire him and grow up with him. His visual language is difficult to categorize and forms a conglomerate of various influences from the world of film, music and gaming as well as photographic role models such as Nan Goldin, Sandy Kim and Walter Pfeiffer.
The work has a clear reference to Switzerland and yet it is noticeable that it provides an insight into the YZ generation that is not at all typical of Switzerland - both in the image content and in the form. It is precisely in this contrast that the appeal and significance of this project lies.
Noyan 2015-2022 is a very personal excerpt from an already extensive archive that the artist keeps at home in his Zurich apartment, where the heart of his book takes place. These are photographs that show his everyday life on the one hand, but also shots of nightlife, concerts, vacations or music video stills. The book is supplemented by 16 drawings by Noah Stark (Clutterstew), who tirelessly applies his incomparably unique character to everything he gets his hands on. Both artists have an old friendship with many shared interests, aesthetics and stories.
